Light into Darkness
This photo is the result of an randomly observed late day moment which turned into a two-day project.
While vacationing about an hour's drive north of Quebec City, I had glanced up just in time to see the sun descending rather beautifully 'into' a Laurentian mountainside ridge of conifers. Shortly thereafter, it was gone.
Afterwards, I thought about that a bit. And I slept on it.
The next day arrived. By late afternoon I knew it was going to remain clear and sunny. This time I was better prepared with my camera and telephoto lens - solar filter threaded on - mounted on my sturdy tripod, Many sequential captures later (using a wireless remote shutter), this particular sun-into-the-trees silhouette composition was the best of them. An exciting capture moment, and a photography experiment gone right!
